CASE OF THE MONTH
Metastatic Melanoma
A 78 year-old-woman presents with a firm, 0.8 cm right intraparotid mass. By report, she has a history of melanoma completely excised from her right forearm 29 years earlier. Smear aspirations demonstrate pleomorphic spindled cells with abundant pigment in a degenerative background. A diagnosis of metastatic malignant melanoma is assigned.
