Scabies Mite


A 7 year old girl undergoes punch biopsy of an intensely pruritic right leg lesion. Sections demonstrate spongiosis with superficial and deep perivascular inflammation. Numerous eosinophils are present. A single intact scabies mite is present within the stratum corneum.
